ESG

ESG – an abbreviation of three terms: “Environmental”, “Social” and Governance”. It is a set of standards that measure a company’s impact on society, the environment, and its transparency and accountability in management. This indicator measures how a company integrates environmental, social and governance practices into its operations, as well as its business model, impact and sustainability.
Directive (EU) 2022/2464 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 December 2022 amending Regulation (EU) No 537/2014, Directive 2004/109/EC, Directive 2006/43/EC and Directive 2013/34/EU with regard to corporate sustainability reporting (hereinafter called “CSRD”) entered into force on 5 January 2023. The provisions introduced in it will replace a number of existing solutions relating to the so-called non-financial reporting. The CSRD regulation is part of the path of change set out by the European Green Deal.
Ultimately, the ESG Directive will impose new ESG reporting obligations on a strictly defined group of entities, already in the unified ESG reporting standard.
Examples of ESG activities in entrepreneurs may include, for example:

  • in the field of environment: identification and reduction of CO2 emissions, investments in environmentally friendly technologies, implementation of the circular economy,

  • in the social field: ensuring appropriate working conditions for employees, promoting diversity and equality, social involvement,

  • Governance: improving governance processes and transparency.

The ENIM Institute team supports entrepreneurs in meeting EU ESG requirements in the following areas:

  • creating and revising sustainable development strategies;

  • accelerating the transition of sustainable development strategies;

  • implementation of a management structure implementing the assumptions of the sustainable development strategy.
